The Consumer version of the EPOC works on Win7. At the moment this is not true of the SDK version, but it deos run ok under VMs for some users (although not for everyone - probably a 32-bit/64-bit distinction). We expect to have a new release of SDK quite soon which will be comaptible with Win7.

would be nice to know when, as live in the UK as so am looking at "having" to buy the SDK version, which I have now found might now work on my Opperating system,! Not Impressed! What other limitations does the SDK have over the consumer version for someone who really wants to own this kit, lives in the uk, and has little software development wishes?

The SDK headset works with all Consumer applications - just not the other way around. You get better tools with the SDK version. The Consumer headset has access only to formally released applications, SDK can run anything that anyone else has written without passing through Emotiv.

Sounds good! Now all I have to do is wait for an SDK version that is compatible with windows 7, or alternative, the CE licence to be approved!

I have everything but Control Panel Premium version 1.0.0.2 and Testbench V1.5.0.2 working on 64 bit Win 7. I was hoping these updates just released 2/01/2010 would have fixed this. They look like they install but they will not start. I tried installing in C:\...Program Files(x86) and in a separate data partition. Same results, doesn't start, even tried compatibility mode to no avail. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
looking at my events it looks like it is seeing the old Testbench V1.5.0.0 I left in a data partition to use when I boot to XP. I will try getting rid of that and see what happens.
Didn't work, removed everything. XX.o.2 works in XP but not 64 bit Windows 7 for me.

I would also be very grateful to be added to the windows 7 beta list for the research SDK. We have windows 7 machines (but not vista) in my lab and we are very excited to get to work applying pattern classifiers to the raw EEG (people in my lab have been working on neuroimaging pattern classification toolboxes using both Python and Matlab: www.pymvpa.org and http://www.pni.princeton.edu/mvpa/ -- of the two, the Python toolbox is currently better suited for EEG).
thanks! ken |

I would love to be on the beta list also. I use Windows 7 64bit for development and have been waiting to get the SDK going.

Yep, no problem
Message to betas: we found a late bug in the builds which we have now fixed. We are rebuilding today, will run a final test and you should see the code on your My Emotiv -> Purchases section in the next day or so |

Nice try Ben. You are listed as a consumer EPOC purchaser. Is this correct? SDK would not work for you anyway. |

No need for the beta version - it's now in full release. Let me know if you don't have a download link for the SDK at My Emotiv => Purchases
The new revision simply replaces the old one - if you click the link it will download v1.0.0.3 |
